Here is a list of the gear we needed to have in place:
- 2 x Powered Monitors
- 2 x Monitor Stands
- 2 x Mic Stands
- 2 x Mics (Mic Type's to Follow)
- 2 x DI Boxes
- 2 x Kettle Leads
- 7 x XLR Mic Leads (1 Spare)
- 2 x Jack to Jack Leads
- 1 x Headphones
- 2 x Extention Lead's
We arrived into the canteen to get the stage up we got everything in place and ready for a sound check. While doing the sound check there was a buzzing noise coming from Paddy's guitar. I then changed the XLR lead going from the DI box to the channel on the mixer. This helped reduce the buzzing.
We then did some EQing to maximize the quality of the sound. After some different adjustments with the treble & the bass on the different channels we got a quality clear sound that we were happy with. We then proceeded to add some reverb through the AUX sends. The reverb was then ad justed throughout the gig and was changed to suit each track.
The 2 piece band then performed a few tracks, using two acoustic guitars and two Mic's, followed by Paddy who done a solo performance on the guitar while singing. After Paddy finished we had two more guest performers who came up from the audience. They needed just one acoustic guitar and two Mic's. The solo singer proved to have a strong voice and this was a challenging experience to monitor the levels of his voice.
